Golden Rule Gala!

February 9, 2008

The Annual Golden Rule Foundation Gala was held at the Lake Nona Lafonda Estate, an 11,000 sq. ft. residence modeled after a Moraccan Palace. The formal black tie event featured gourmet food, live jazz, a silent auction, a student performance, and fund raising activities for invited partners, donors, educators and community supporters.

"The Golden Rule Foundation believes fostering character development in children is serious business. That’s why we’ve made it our mission. Our Central Florida non-profit agency is dedicated to helping schoolchildren build character through service-learning. To accomplish this, we raise money to support class projects that meet a pressing community need, provide real-world applications for students’ classwork, and help them grow from the experience."

The OCPS Service Learning Program and TCHS Service Learning Academy are partners with the Golden Rule Foundation and have received grant money for character education-service learning grants for the last few years. Here is a list of some participating schools funded by the Golden Rule Foundation.
