WHAT IS PENNY HARVEST?
It is Service-learning, Community Building, Character Education, Youth Philanthropy
The Penny Harvest is a year-round service-learning program that engages students between the ages of four and fourteen in community building, character education and leadership. The processes of philanthropy -- gathering pennies, grant-making, taking action -- introduces students to the power of giving and service. In turn, students learn they can enact change in their communities.
The Penny Harvest and Nora and Teddy Gross were credited as being the inspiration for Oprah’s Angel Network, coinciding with their appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show on September 4th!
