Students pose among "gravestones" in the Celebrity Cemetery. Grave markers remembered Anna Nicole Smith, Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin Jimmy Hendrix and others who died from drug over doses or were victims of drunk drivers.
Students from the Student Government brought a sound system and encouraged dance-offs. THANKS!!
Rumor was that the celebrity cemetery was haunted.
The Service Learning Council sponsored a week of activities for Red Ribbon Week to promote a drug-free school. Students wrote public service announcements for Wolf TV, had a door decorating contest, a t-shirt contest and activities at the Cross Creek and Timber Creek campuses. The students made a celebrity cemetery featuring gravestones of well-known celebrities who died because of drug or alcohol abuse or because they were a victim of drunk driving.
Students from Michelle Berggren's business class made three pamphlets on alcohol, smoking and drug use which were distributed during the event, The Student Government provided a sound system.
Students also sponsored the "You CAN say no to drugs" canned food drive to benefit clients of the Health Care Center for the Homeless.
Red Ribbon Week was a huge success!
